Virtual Zoom Meeting - See Calendar for Meeting Link
Whether you are new to LinkedIn or just want to brush up on a few things on your LinkedIn page, Hands-On LinkedIn is for you. This is a forum where attendees bring their wireless capable computer and spend two hours getting the latest tips on how to build and work a LinkedIn account. Attendees are also encouraged to share their own idea successes with the group.
You can learn about using LinkedIn on our Youtube channel's Hands-On LinkedIn playlist at your convenience. This allows us to focus more Forum time on editing attendee's Summary sections.
Information on how we structure the summary section of your profile can be found in this About Summary Format document.
We recommend Photofeeler to test your LinkedIn profile picture to ensure it shows you as competent, likeable and influential. You just need to rate other peoples photos to get the credits to have your own rated.
We're also fans of TagCrowd to generate keyword clouds. Paste in a few descriptions of jobs you're interested in, link to the URL for a specific job or upload a file with the job desctiptions in it to see which words show up the most frequently.
LinkedIn is not just a copy of your resume. For some tips on how to structure both, see this blog article on Aha!
When it's time to apply for a job on LinkedIn, here are three articles to help you understand how LinkedIn compares your profile to the job requirements for the How You Match section.
LinkedIn Blog: Introducing How You Match on LinkedIn Jobs
LinkedIn: How You Match
Microsoft: Configure Matching Strategy
You are not going to believe this. I updated my LI profile on Wednesday night with the suggestions of the group - and as of Friday at 3pm I recieved 7 emails from recruiters, 10 phone calls and 3 solid interviews next week.
I'm forever grateful for how you have helped me.
Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU!
